Astra hits critical cyber threshold, Fable 5.1 cheaper, Google teases video agents

Cyber leads today. Anthropic cuts prices, and Google hints at video understanding with agents.

The key stories

OpenAI reports: Astra is the first model to hit the critical cyber capabilities threshold in the Preparedness Framework. The Preparedness Framework is an internal staged model for risk and release reviews. It governs protection requirements. OpenAI names stricter safeguards for Astra before any release.1

Anthropic launches Fable 5.1 and Mythos 5.1 as the most capable models in the line so far. Coding and research could see up to 45 percent lower costs, according to the provider. If you use Fable, factor in the possible reduction.2
