Nvidia eyes HF deal, Anthropic secures $45B compute, Google Transcribe, court halts DoD blacklist

A lot of movement in infrastructure and law: big deals, new speech tech, and a legal check on overreaching security lists.

Reports place Nvidia on the verge of acquiring Hugging Face. About 13 billion dollars are named. There is no official confirmation. For open models Nvidia would hold a central hub with this.1

Another report cites 12.9 billion dollars for the same deal. The tenor is the same. Nvidia is reaching for the open source pivot. The numbers come from media reports. If it happens you should expect tighter integration of the HF Hub and the Nvidia stack.2

According to a report Anthropic has secured a compute contract of about 45 billion dollars with Nscale. The deal is meant to provide planning certainty ahead of the IPO. Independent confirmations are missing. If you rely on Claude this points to stable allotments in the coming years.3

Google introduces Gemini 3.5 Transcribe. The system recognizes more than 85 languages and auto-corrects misspeaking. That promises smoother transcripts, especially for spontaneous speech. You save cleanup time on recordings and meetings.4

Zhipu AI reports top results with GLM-5.3-Flash at much lower cost. The model is said to run without Nvidia hardware. Independent benchmarks are not available. If you need to cut costs a test run on your hardware can be worthwhile.5

A federal judge has halted the planned designation of Anthropic as a security risk. The Department of Defense was told its rationale was unlawful and unfounded. The acute risk drops for public contracts with Claude.6

OpenAI and over 100 companies warn in an open letter about AI-powered attacks on critical infrastructure. They call for joint defenses and faster action. This is a political signal. Not a new standard. You can use the letter internally as a hook for hardening measures.7

Microsoft, together with the Philippines Department of Education, is bringing AI tools to one million teachers. The package includes Copilot for teaching and administration. Integration points open up for local edtech providers. The rollout requires a state partnership.8
