OpenAI tightens privacy, US warning on industrial attacks, Claude in the lab

OpenAI reaffirms Zero Data Retention for eligible API customers on frontier models. There is also a preview of Private Safety Processing. That means safety checks without extra data sharing. Both are claims by the provider. No independent audit. If you send sensitive data, enable ZDR and check your own logs.1

NSA, CISA, and FBI warn that attackers use AI to build exploits for industrial control systems. That is the tech behind factories and grids. This hits OT environments and supply chains, not just classic IT. If you run ICS, block generative tools from production networks and harden engineering workstations.2

Anthropic says any lab can now let a language-model agent control the full protein design chain. Claude designed small proteins in internal tests, according to the company. This speeds up workflows. Biosafety and validation still apply. If you plan lab automation, separate simulation, planning, and wet lab. Keep approval steps manual.3

China lets small batches of Nvidia’s H200 onto the mainland to keep local AI firms from falling further behind. This does not look like broad market access. More like a trickle with limited volume. If you compute in China, plan for tight supply and shifting quotas.4

Several security researchers report that OpenAI revoked their access to the TAC program with loosened guardrails. The revocation came without prior notice, according to reports. If you use TAC in workflows, plan fallback paths and ensure local reproducibility.5
